Leader 2016

This summer exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Not only was I given the opportunity to develop myself as a leader and professional, but I got to meet and live with 31 of the greatest people to come into my life. With the help of the amazing management, coordinators, and of course my SOL siblings, this summer was one I'll never forget.

Student Orientation Leaders are known as some of the most knowledgable students about the University of Cincinnati, and now I know why. We go through about a month and a half of training on everything UC, meeting with everyone from athletics to architects, from student organization leaders to the president!

The job itself consists of coordinating and leading small groups of incoming students around campus sessions, such as Public Safety, College-specific programs, and a library session at Langsam. It's our job to make sure everyone is accounted for and feels welcomed and accustomed to the University.

This summer provided just as many great experiences on the clock as off. We had "optional activities" that management would schedule, weekend trips to my SOLsiblings hometowns or downtown Cincinnati, or your weekly trip to UDF, I'm walking out of this summer with some unforgettable memories and 31 people that I consider family.
