Day 2: Amberland & Nancy's Kitchen Dinner

For day 2, I was off to Amberland, the game arcade! I can't complain about sitting in A/C for four hours! I basically spent the entire morning placing games and bringing out my inner child. I went back and forth between the basketball game and Smash the Flash. I can now say that I am an ambidexterous basketball player and could beat anyone in Smash the Flash with my elbows. I also played about 18 games of air hockey with Sophia. I probably should have let her win every once in awhile, but hey, I'm competative! Before she was out, she gave me a big hug and told me I was awesome. I could get used to loving little kids!

After we got back to the house, I grabbed a quick lunch and went to the pool. It was a scorcher today in Kissimmee! I let Marty swing on the palm tree branch for about a half hour before he finally lost interest, but hey, I'm not at a pool to stay dry! When the clouds came, we went back to the house. I thought that since it had cooled off a little bit, that a run at 3pm in Florida might be an okay idea. WRONG. Very hot. Very humid. I think I lost three gallons of sweat, but I got to explore the surrounding area a bit and see the little Indian village we're next to.

For our night shift, we were all stationed in Nancy's Kitchen. I went to the salad bar and served salads, fruit, and soup for about four hours. Unfortunately, salad isn't usually a kid's first choice, but I did get a fun group of customers! I could listen to kind British people say "Cucumbah" for hours! Working the salad bar brought back some flashbacks of my waitressing days, but it was fun and fast paced and I enjoyed it! Can't wait for our day off/Daytona beach tomorrow!
