Day 3: To the Beach!

Today was our day off! After a still-sweaty morning run around a regional park that's a little less than a mile away, we hung out a little bit during the afternoon until we departed for Daytona Beach at around 12.

The hour and a half hour drive went pretty smoothly, minus a little bit of traffic. It took us awhile to find a parking spot that didn't cost $10, but we finally found one for $5. It was ascorcher down in Daytona, but the beachy breeze made it feel absolutely perfect! The ocean water was the warmest I've ever felt on a coast, and the waves were gnarly! That also means that it took about two waves for me to get knocked underwater and send my sunglasses to sea.

We spent the afternoon catching some rays and stalking some puppies before our appetites started catching up with us. We went back to the car to change and went to the first place we saw, with a great view of the beach. I ordered some salmon, rice, and veggies, which was of course delicious. We made a stop at one gift shop before returning back to our house for the night.

Our day at the beach wore us out, so after some TV we all hit the hay a little early. Ready to be back at GKTW tomorrow!
