I made sure to eat a large breakfast this morning when I read that we would be serving it, because watching food without eating it KILLS ME! I hit up serving waffles with "Moose" aka Bob from Wisconsin. He manned the 3 mini waffle makers while I took over the toppings. My favorite was when the volunteer from England would come over and tell me to load up some waffles for the kiddo's birthday!
For one kid's fifth birthday, I gave him one mini waffle with two whip cream Mickey ears with sprinkles, a whipped cream nose with a red m&m on top, two brown m&ms for the eyes, and a choc
olate syrup smile. I hope the kiddo was impressed!
For the evening, Malorie and I were on ice cream duty until 10om. Making banana splits and milkshakes really brought back my days at my first job at Dairyland DQ back home! Watching the kids eyes light up when they realized that they could truly get WHATEVER they wanted was so funny. Even if the parents tried to limit them, I would give them a little extra so they would be happy. I can make a very fancy banana split if I do say so myself.
One little girl let me sniff the flower she picked while she was having her ice cream made. She said that she knows that it was a good one because the petals hadn't fallen off.
Our customers cleared out at about 9pm, but we had some stragglers that were so nice that we were so excited to serve them. When we were finished cleaning, I had my appetite ready for some ice cream, but we headed home and prepared ourselves for tomorrow instead!
